Is it possible to diplay the user DND status on a DSS lamp?

Currently, each user is assigned to a button on the DSS, but the lamp is only displayed during an active call.

I'd like the lamp to display (or blink or something) if the user has set DND.

Thanks!

it should show the same way, I always get complaints that you can not tell the difference between DND and being on the phone.

BAS1234 - That link confirms that 4412 phones operate fine with a DND toggle button (and I agree), but doesn't address how you would diplay the status of DND on the reception phone DSS.

WESTI - I have tested and retested. The "User" button lamp does not light relative to DND status. It only lights when the user is on a call.

BAS1234 -

Thanks for the updated link, but this IP Office 4.x doc doesn't seem to address my question (or I'm overlooking the information).

Do you think this information indicates that the DSS User lamp should work in conjunction with DND on v3.2(61)?

If you have programmed it as a "User" button.
It will show that Busy and DND have the same indication on the screen/button and that there is no difference.

If you want to see the difference between Busy/DND then use PhoneManager Lite/Pro

Unfortunately, that is not the behavior I'm experiencing. As I indicated above, the "User" button lamp (on the DSS) does not light relative to the user DND status. It only lights when the user is on a call.

I don't need to see the difference between Busy/DND - I just need the receiptionist to know when that a user has set DND (and will not be available to accept transferred calls).

Any further thoughts? Are you sure this was supported in v3.2?

How do you activate the DND?

ShortCode, Button or PhoneManager?

I'm activating DND on the user station (4412D+). I have assigned a "Do Not Disturb On" button. When I press the button, the lamp toggles as expected.

However, the DSS station with the "User" button does not light to reflect that status change.

Should I be setting DND status with a shortcode instead?

You could try to see if it makes any difference.

I tried using the short codes to activate/deactivate (*08/*09). Although the DND feature worked, this did not impact the lamp status on the DSS.

Any other ideas?

is the user button programmed properly? user and the name picked from the dropdown menu not written into it.
I can't see it being programmed wrong but hey it is a shot in the dark
try reprogramming one users button and test it again.

Did you try to remove the user on the DSS an reassign the user?

This wasnt a feature until 4.2. you would need to upgrade. DND never showed on a DSS button

Thanks Kwing - I guess that solves the mystery.

Unfortunately, it's my understanding that the v4.2 doesn't support the IP Office 406v1 hardware.

Looks like I'm stuck!

you are correct. I didnt even look at what you had for hardware.

Nice kwing,

I knew that it didn't work on the old Network Alchemy but that it still didn't work on 3.2!
