-Nortel Option 11-

We are changing our Tech Support number as our old one is 1 digit off from the National Do Not Call number and our Support group is tired of answering those calls. I'd like to set up a number that we will have our current toll-free number forwarded to that will have a recorded message saying the number has changed, this isn't the DNC #, go to our websit eto get the correct Tech Support #, blah, blah, blah.

What would be the best way to do this? We'd prefer there to be no option to leave a voicemail - just a recorded message.

Thanks!

You could send it to a RAN making that statement. Have RAN available? Call Pilot?

This might be better handled by the provider of your TFN...tell them it is an annoyance and the may issue you another TFN at no charge...
One thing you could try on a switch level is to find out the DNIS and then in LD 49 route it to your voice mail for the announcement.

Actually, there no charge for the toll-free but rather the usage on/of it is the fee.

Just point the old number to a Info Vmail you can use any old DID number to creat the Vmail.

Point your new 800 to the old DID to helpdesk.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Acewarlock, could you explain a little further what you mean? We are going to have the toll free number pointed at a DID we set up. What is a Info Vmail? Is it different from a regular vmail box?

Will the nightly routines cause problems with a TN that doesn't actually have a phone attached to it? I came in this morning and the internal 4-digit extension gave a busy signal while the DID went to the receptionist. We had forwarded the extension to voicemail so it would pick up on the first ring. I changed the CFW 16 xxxx to just CFW 16 and the phone no longer gave a busy and voicemail picked up after 4 rings.

Is this expected behavior and if so, what can be done so that the phone doesn't do this after nightime routines?

Thanks!

Best way is to program as an ACD queue or Phantom DN that forwards to voicemail. These will not disable after midnights. Info voicemail ace was talking about is just an announcement service that gives the callers a recording with the new number. No option with this to leave a message.

take that set out & build a acd queue with that ext as your ACDN maxp 1 ncfw to where you want it.

or put flxa in the CLS and it will not disable via ld 30 midn routine.
