Distinctive Ringing

I am trying to get per line distinctive ringing on a bunch of 2008's. I have started with a single phone.

I added CLS DRDA, this gave me the new prompts DNRO and DRNI. I have set DRNI to 4, I think I have tried all 0-4 at this point.
The phone still rings as CLS DRG is set. I have all the PKGs that are required per the NTPs. Not really sure where to go at this point.

On this phone I am working with DN 7555.

The print out you posted looks very odd. Where is the MARP at?

There are multiple phones with these lines. This phone does not happen to be the marp for any of them.

Does the Distinctive Ring work on any phones?

never tried it before, this would be the first one. I tried the phone on my desk first, could not get that one to do it either, however it is an IP phone, so I thought I would give it a go on a old 2008.

What release software and are the patches current?

Here is your issue

Distinctive Ringing by DN does not support Multiple Appearance DNs. Therefore, each
appearance of a DN configured on a different set cannot be configured to allow different ringing
cadences.

OK, so what about

DN 7555 rings as cadence 4 on 5 phones
and DN 5500 rings cadence 2 on the same 5 phones
and their prime DNs ring whatever DRG is set to.

Would that work?

FYI we are 7.62, I think the patches are current, if not they are darn close.

The book is pretty clear when it says it will not work with Multiple Appearance DN's. So in simple terms, if 5000 appears on more than 1 set it wont work for that DN, seems pretty clear to me. So in your scenario it will never activate the distinctive ring because you are trying to use it with MADN's

You bet, get your hands on a Feature Guide, they are invaluable when it comes to knowing how a particular feature works and hot to program it.
