Disable Call Forward Remotely 1

Is there anyway to remotely disable a telephone that has call forward on through the switch. When I do status station xxx I see that it has the call forward on but in the change stat xxx does not or maybe I missed it doesn't have the option to disable the call forward. Is it possible to disable it remotely through the switch. I would think it is but just dont know where.

You need to give your phone console permissions, and then you would dial the call-forward cancel FAC and then enter the extension that is forwarded. Or go to the console itself and do it. The console permissions can be found the COS table.

I think what you are saying is if I was in the same building as this station was then I can do it from my station as long as I have console permission.
My question is I want to do it remotely somehow from one plant to another plant or division. I have remote access to the other plants switch through dial up. Now I cannot I dont think use the FAC to do it remotely from one plant to another that only works internally. Any other suggestions or idea on how to disable it from different locations and not internally.

If you use remote access on your definity its a very easy task with FAC .

With console permission on my phone, I am able to forward and unforward extensions at any of our 25+ remote locations. Just set your extension to have console permissions, use the FAC code and you'll be good to go.
 
How would I go about doing it though would it be correct say for instance the phone number to that station is 916-632-6363 and the FAC was 111 would I dial the number first followed by the FAC or would I dial the FAC number first then the number or how would I make the call to that station remotely to turn it off.

The correct way would be to dial the FAC and then the extension. From you question, I get the impression that your system and the remote system are not connected, thus you would have to dial a 10 digit number to get to the remote extension. If that is the case, I do not believe there is a way for you to turn off call forwarding.
 
Yes that is correct my switch and the remote switch are not connected. So I guess there is no way but to have or show the user to do it him/her self at her station. I was hoping there was.
Since we are talking about being connected subject, how can I go abouts to connecting my switch to the other remote switch. Right now I use a regular modem to dial into the switch. If anyone can show me how I would really appreciate it. I do have a 8400B modem. Would I need to connect one to the current switch and another one to the other switch to connect to it. Thanks.....
 
D’OH! I can't believe I forgot about this. You can setup an extension in the remote switch to perform the FAC! If you dial into the remote system and do a CHA REM, you can setup an extension that can be dialed out from the outside, give it a barrier code (essentially a password; AND SET IT TO 7 DIGITIS!) Give it a COS with console permissions, whatever COR your stations there use and you should be able to use the FAC in that switch to disable call forwarding on any extension. BUT, I highly, highly recommend removing the remote extension when you are done. That’s a wide open door for toll fraud.

And that's a good question. All of my switches are connected via T1's, but I have never really asked what it would take to connect two switches on a smaller, less expensive scale. Now, I know that you have had to purchase the type of switch that can be 'networked' and that does not mean in a data sense, but rather switch-to-switch. I would definitely check with your AE to make sure that your systems have the capability. If so, your AE will probably refer you to a Design Specialist to discuss your options.
 
The other recommendations have been right on the money.

Here's how I would take it a step further to allow you to control this remotely with a lesser chance of toll-fraud.

Set up the remote access port extension in the REMOTE PBX as described above, but make the extension NON-Direct-Dial, instead.

Create a DID VDN which will use a vector script with NO Ringback or Hold Music and which will require digit collection following a null (empty) announcement.

This DID VDN (in the Remote PBX) will eventually route to the Non-DID Remote Access Port.

Let the digit string itself be separate from the barrier code(s) and authorization code(s) and be listed within a Vector Routing table (cha vrt n, n=1,2,3...).

Now, once you dial the DID VDN extension, you WON'T hear dial tone (for the barrier code) until AFTER you enter both the initial digit string (from the vector routing table) and the authorization code (which precedes the barrier code).

This just adds another level of toll-fraud protection by requiring a third password of sorts.
 
Instead of doing al of this above, you could also do a 'busy out station xxx' and then a release station xxx', this way the call forward is gone.

It's not the perfect solution, but it's the quickest way if you haven't set up anything like the things above.

FYI
Busy station and release station does not remove any call forwarding . Remote access is the only way to go and there is so many other options you can preform with this .
