Hello,
we are planing to buy some 14-port analog cards for our Definity G3 V11. Software Load R011i.03.1.531.0. Memory Configuration G3siV11.
We want to replace 16-port cards (TN791, TN746B) and some no-callerid 24-port cards (TN2793) to get
1) more station ports (+8/card)
2) callrID feature on analog phones with CLIP (it works us on TN2793B and also od TN793CP).
I have an offer from my supplier to buy TN793B cards. Till now we use TN2793B cards and also one TN793CP.
My question is: will the TN793B cards work with our definity at our location?
We are in Central Europe and using CCIT A-law.
If I know, the TN793B is US version of TN2793B (Europe). But I can´t find any information about what is the exact difference between those cards.

Thank you

there is no functional difference, it was just a pricing difference. Avaya used to sell the 2793, 2464, etc cards for less than their 793, 464 counterparts. the catch was that your switch had to be optioned to support the less expensive versions of the cards. all systems will support the 793 but only some systems will support 2793 so you will be fine.

If I am not mistaken the (2) in front of the circuit pack number is for a different package offering (usually B) category use. I ran across this a couple years ago on a cut. The license file had to be changed to an A offer to make them work after the upgrade.

Also if you change the "location" field in RFA from "1" to "2", the "B" version cards (TN2793, TN2214, TN2464) will work in a current S-Series switch.
