Hi folks,
Sorry that this one can be really basic, but I can find the answer for it in the Siemens doc I have.

Can someone explain what is the difference between (COS1 and COS2) and (LCOSV1 and LCOSV2) in a station configuration?

If I have the following config, when the different settings (COS1 and COS2) and (LCOSV1 and LCOSV2) will make any notice difference?

Hi,
COS1 is the 'normal' Class Of Service (features and facilites) that the phone has during normal working.

LCOSV1 is the access level for dialling out when using voice (almost all calls)
(Least Cost Routing Class of Service Voice)

LCOSD1 is the access level for example if you had an ISDN underset adaptor fitted and you wanted to allow that to dial out.
(Least Cost Routing Class of Service Data)

COS2 is the 'closed' Class of Servcice for when the phone is COSXCD (Class of Service Switched over) by a Card, PIN Code, Operator or by the Comwin Console.

When the phone is in this COSXCD mode it has COS2 LCOSV2 and LOCSD2 active
LCOSV2 When the phone is in this closed mode that is the access level allowed
LCOSD2 similar to the V2

An example would be that you would setup a phone with COS1=6, COS2=1 LCOSV1=6 LCOSV2=1 LCOSD1=6 LCCOSD2=1
So you would see something linke 6,1,6,1,6,1 in the setup of the phone.

It can be used also in timed mode by the AMOs BERUM and BERUZ whereby you could have the phone closed after 17:00 for example and opened again at 09:00
If you have a PIN Code you could open the phone for 1 call or similar.
