I have a customer who we programmed a new block of DIDs for recently

I did not do the original instal but it is a BCM400

The dids work fine during the day but at night when they switch their night service on the dids are answered by the general delivery mailbox.

I am assuming it is because the target lines are being answered by the AA in lines administration but i just wanted to double check before i go onsite.

Thank you

Check to make sure that the new Target Lines are not set up to be controlled by the control set.

It's because of Night Service. Put the main line in a different ring group #2 and you should be good as all lines default to RG 1.

Cook is dead on nuts right. All lines default to Ring Group 001 and all lines are also controlled by the extension on port 101 (Norstar), 201 (BCM1000/400) or port 401 (BCM50). Delete all extensions from RG001 and assign them to RG002. Take the line you want to control and change it to use RG002.

I did this and then I received a telco message saying this is a non working number... Any ideas

I never use RG001; what I usually do is leave lines by default in RG001 and remove the only set (default: 221) from the group.

I always create a new group for lines I want to control (say 005) and leave the rest in 001
