Hi All

Since I have upgrade site to 11.0.1.26 (from MCD 4.2), the client experiences an occasional phantom message wait indication generated by a "dialled message wait" according to the locate feature command. The problem is randomly picking on all handset that have voicemail.

I can easily clear using the message wait clear feature code from the affected handset.

It never occurred running under MCD 4.2..... I can only conclude there is a bug in sw release or co-incidently a user is dialling the message wait activation code followed by a number by mistake.

Not aware of the problem but it certainly could be a user problem. Since the users don't dial message waiting on or off what is you code and could you change it to * or # something. Think we use *90.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Thanks LoopyLou

Feature codes configured as follows:
*90 xxx mwi on
*91 xxx mwi off

We use zero for outside line access so some one could be accidently hit the star key though local, national numbers do't begin with 9.

In the COS for all extensions set Disable Send Message to Yes and Message Waiting to No. Disable Send Message keeps an extension from setting a Call Back on another extension which causes "false" MWI (my message light is flashing but I don't have any voicemail messages).

Message Waiting is the COS option the lets an extension dial the MWI Feature Codes. Unfortunately Mitel defaults Message Waiting to Yes and this will lead to your problem.

Do you have any ports configured on your voicemail that are not programmed in the Voicemail hunt group.

Especially the last port MUST be in the group.

If the port that is setting the MWI is not in the group, the mwi will show up as Dialled Msg Waiting.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.
