Il start by saying im new to CM

i am using the string for 16xx phones
Option 242

MCIPADD=192.168.82.200,MCPORT=1719,HTTPSRVR=192.168.82.204,L2Q=1,L2QVLAN=10,VLANTEST=0

Maxwell,
The phone probably do get DHCP frmo the data lan.
You should add the string in there too and point it to vlan 10

Put in L2Q=1,L2QVLAN=10,VLANTEST=0

Remove it in the voice vlan and keep the rest.

thats the strange thing they do, it gets all the correct details but non of the additional bits added to the string just the basic DHCP bits

the dhcp server is on 192.168.82.6
it give out 192.168.82.12 - 200
everything in the scop is standard other than the option 242 which i have added and it ignores...

all phones and data are in the same vlan just with QOS type 6 setup for the phones, its only a very small site but dont want to leave the phones statically addressed for obvious reasons

Then there is something wrong in the router (routing)
Can you ping the callserver and the phones ?

yes you can ping everything except for the router because its turned off on it.

the DHCP is being given out by a Microsoft server not a Router

But the phones need a default gateway otherwise they cannot find the callserver.

the default gateway will be given out in the standard DHCP information...???

dhcp will give ip, subnet and router address (default gateway)

option 242 will give the rest..

If the scope option 242 is added to DHCP as a server option, it must also be checked for each scope (scope options) as well for it to use it. Creating the server options only adds it to the list of scope options you can use, still needs to be checked.

yes sorry, it is checked
