Hello all,

I recently had a new install with a IPO chassis and Application server running on the customer supplied VMWare host. Both were 9.1.7. Long story short we found that the application server was handing out DHCP. How is this possible and has anyone else run into this?

Thanks

S

Waiting for @Pepp77 to pitch up and answer this for you. He won't be long [hourglass]

Are you sure the IP Office Service isn't running? I would check your services to make sure that the correct services are running.

The IPOffice service isnt available under the system tab in the web control. How else would you see if it is running? The only thing I could see happening is that even though the ISO was told to set up as a app server, some part of the IPOffice service is getting by.

I think I found the issue. Apparently you have to log into the app server via Manager and DISABLE DHCP. Nice.

It is always the first step to run ICU from Manager

Yep, whether an app server or an ipo you need to open the system via manager as a first step and ensure, hostname, ip address and DHCP options are correct.

Thanks for the response. Apparently I was in a hurry on configuration day! I just dont recall having to do that with an app server. I am now feverishly looking back on the install docs...

I have seen this too and I really think this is stupid!
If you ignite the darn thing then you have this option and it is not enabled!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
