A customer has discovered the following problem in Avaya IP office 7.0.32

Simultaneous calls to 1 extension via auto attendant extension selection only one will get to extensions mailbox on ring no answer the other call will get a long pause and a message "destination is unavailable" bounced to company directory message.


It appears that callers can leave only one mailbox message at a time per extension all others get "destination is unavailable " . The system has 4 ports for vmail and 10 extensions and 5 phonelines there is no blockage on incoming calls.

Any ideas ?

The debug tool did not run on embedded vmail it only runs on pro.

Further testing I drilled down on exactly when this occurs;
1. Dial Inbound trunk call to auto attx dial ext rings 4 x fwd to mailbox get user greeting
2.Dial second inbound trunk call while still engaging mailbox in step 1 , get auto attx dial same ext as step 1 get message "the destination you have dialed is unavailable".

It appears that the automatic vms cover feature which is assigned is not working for inbound trunk call. The fault only occurs when 2 outside callers are involved the same scenario with the second caller internal goes to mailbox no problem.

This is a Partner mode config using embedded mail if there is a cover feature to activate other than automatic or automatic does not run in partner mode maybe ?
