Hi all,

I have a customer that has a problem where when someone calls in on the analog ls trunks, the caller hears 4 rings before the system starts to ring, i have looked thru cos for the trunks and co trunk descriptor but cant really see anything obvious, any ideas?

Thanks
Woody

The problem is most likely Caller ID. Specifically, the Analog trunks are not providing it and the CX is programmed to expect it to be delivered.

Without having a system in front of me to tell you exactly where to make changes, look in the trunk COS for ANI/DNIS... turn them off. Pretty sure there is something in the CO circuit descriptor as well that will need to be disabled.

Good Luck!

I guess the other option is to leave it and have the customer purchase the Caller ID if it is available.

When you put a butt set on the line, how many rings do you hear before the butt set rings? How do we know the Mitel is waiting four rings?

sorry to stick my nose in..i have had this before and ive just tested it and it you change the ANI/DNI number delivery in the COS of the analogue trunks to No it seems to ring straight away, yet when changed to YES it rings 4-5 times.... hope this helps

I was about to post the same as Markiemac.

Change the ANI/DNIS Delivery in the COS of the trunk to NO.

If we don't take care of the customer, Maybe they'll stop bugging us.

How do we know the customer is does not subscribe to ANI/CallerID?

If the trunk was receiving the caller ID it would not delay.

I'd configure CLASS type to No in Circuit Descriptor form. The system will not even try to listen for any information coming from the trunk

kwbMitel: You are making assumptions that you don't know are true.

I have experienced the exact same thing on multiple 3300 with analog trunks. Analog trunks were not sending Caller ID. Programmed the systems to not expect CLASS or ANI and everything worked great.

All I'm saying is, we don't know if the customer has CLASS trunks or not?

Woody??? Where are you???
