We have a Cisco CM 4.2 set up in a test enviroment. The Definity V10 is our production system. I can call between the 2 systems extension to exstension, but I get no audio at either end. The calls connect and I get CLID, but no audio. They appear to be using the same codec. I know very little about the Cisco. I followed a procedure to connect to an Avaya S8500 via H.323 from the Cisco website. Any help would be aprreciated. Thanks.

We have had this issue with IP Office and it was some kind of fastart issue. maybe something to look at.

Do you know how I can determine if I'm getting medpro resource? If I status my Avaya extension while the call is connected it looks like this:(.113 is clan) (.248 is phone)(.100 is the CM)

looks like you're getting Medpro resource an there's no denial events, I'd look at the cisco config as per kwing's suggestion, also see if they can do any monitoring from their side

to force the codec on the cisco (ver 4.1.3) side: These values are from a working Avaya-Cisco H.323 trunk

login to CCMadmin. Choose device>gateway select the h.323 gateway.

enable the following:

Media termination point required
retry Video call as audio
wait for Far end H.245 terminal capability set

redirecting number IE Delivery - inbound
enable inbound fastStart <--- will get Avaya Codec here

enable outbound faststart
codec for outbound faststart (choose g711 U-law from drop down)

hope this helps -
r.
