All,
I'm having a serious brain cramp trying to call forward an extension on a G3. I want the call to forward to a certain extension and then if no answer, I want it to go back to the original stations voicemail.. I must be anticipating Thanksgiving because I can't remember how to do it. Please Advise.
Brain Cramp

disp fea for feature access code lets say its *2 dial *2 then the extension number you will then receive a conf tone, if unanswered it will go into the original stations voice mail box, or program a call forward button on the set

I've created a VDN and simple Vector to forward the extension to the Receptionist phone when no one answers after 3 rings. The call goes to coverage but I can't get the voicemail to answer on the covering extension. When I had Stop in Line 3, the call disconnected.
How do I get the voicemail to answer on the covering extension?

01-Wait-time 0 secs hearing ringback
02-Route-to number 3001 with cov y if unconditional

make step 2 in the coverage path on the phone go to a vdn that points to a vector that says message skill 99 for extension xxx assuming hunt 99 is your voicemail hunt group

Smokinjoe;
I must be over analyzing this thing. Should I do away with the current VDN and Vector. I'm not quote sure about step 2 that you're referring to. My calls are currently ringing on the forwarded-to extension. Please Advise

yes no vdn or vector needed, so just forward the set to the covering extension, but on the forwarded extension on it's coverage path do this, point 1 should route to a vdn which routes to a vector that says message skill 99 for extension xxxx being the extension that is being forwarded, you will need to add coverage path next assign the new vdn as point 1. Now when someone calls this forwarded extension it will route to the covering extension and if no answer will look to point 1 of the coverage path which will force it to message the forwarded extension. I hope I am not confusing you here.also assuming that hunt 99 is your voicemail hunt group

you don't have to use VDN/Vectors for this. The process to fwd is listed above, but for it to revert back to the original stations vm there's a setting on page 2 of the station form called 'coverage after forwarding'. The choices I believe are: yes, no, system. You can see what the switch is setup for by looking at 'disp sys cover' and you'll see what the system setting is that will tell you what to change that field in the station form to.
