We have a R2 Avaya dect system and have recently been encountering lots of dropped calls and 'out of range' messsages appearing on the handsets. This fault is intermittent. We have replaced all the hardware apart from the base stations. This is our next step. Has anyone had this issue with their dect system? It suggests its a base station issue but when I walk round our site to test the signal strength its strong. I have replaced the PRI , EXP cards , the chasse and the power supply but to no avail.

do all the radios show installed and operational? Have you checked the LED status on the base stations?

Thanks for the reply, yes all stations are in service and appear ok. The system had been working for 7 years without a hitch. Then the PRI card went and the problems started. My hunch is maybe the dect base stations are now trying to run on a differnt generation of PRI card and that is causing problems ?

Welcome into the world of R2 DECT. I have had several issues with dect systems that worked well for years and suddenly had huge problems. On two cases i am working right now, but there is a very recent case in which avaya swapped the dect system for a tenovis solution..... The cases i am having trouble with righ now are realy almost the same as you describe. I guess it would not be a bad thought to escalate this to tier3 with avaya as soon as possible.
