DBASE IV "network load failure E(08 00)

I'll tell you right now that I'm not very familiar with Novell but have you done the natural steps like:
Login script maps the drive that DBASE is on?
Shortcut points to/and works from that mapped drive?
Have you checked the route with CX to make sure it's valid?
Made sure that the containers/leafs permissions haven't changed?
Checked with admin for newly installed software?
Hopefully, something here will help you narrow down the problem(s) you currently have.

Looks like I may be talking to a Novell/DBase expert. We seem to be experiencing data loss/corruption when we install our DBase driven software in an environment that uses the Novell client on Windows machines. The data and programme is on an NT machine but the common factor on a number of sites seems to be the Novell client. It has been suggested to me that we replace with the Microsoft Netware client. Can anybody help with this issue?
