I have a small network and one of my pcs running W98SE suddenly changed its date back to 21st January 2001. Does anyone know why this may happen and how to prevent it in the future?

The PC may have a CMOS battery that needs replacement.

How about the time, does the clock in windows show the right time or do you have to keep fixing it. I would agree (especially if the clock is off) that its a bad battery.
