Data Merge Problem

I just started using data merge. Had no problem with the basic merge however I could not get images to merge with my data. I keep getting an error message or the merge happens and the image box/frame is empty. I used data from excel and followed all the directions for the merge. Any ideas what is happening here? I made sure the image paths were correct etc.

Did you remember the @ sign at the beginning of the field name?

Yes the fields are labeled with the @ sign. Still get a blank spaceafter the merge for the image.
