Hello, I want to connect fiber cable to my CX/CXi E1/ISDN card. Any tips on converters to use at both the 3300 and CO ends or if this is not practical what other ways to provide digital trunk in place of analogue trunks and where Internet or voip is not available

Please elaborate. What are you trying to accomplish?

ISDN trunks do not interface via fiber.

The 3300 CX/CXi is currently connected to the CO with Analog trunks which have been very unreliable and now wants to replace it with a digital link. There is spare fiber pair that the CO suggests using to connect to the 3300 CX Unused E1 combo card

According to your profile, you are in Georgia, US. E1 is a European standard, and Digital links are not provided directly to phone systems via fiber.

There are too many things wrong with your question for me to even know where to begin.

Just visiting in the USA. The CX am looking at has an E1 combo card connected to the CO using twisted copper pairs. what do you need to replace the twisted pair with a fiber pair.

You do not seem to be listening

The card DOES NOT CONNECT VIA FIBER AND CANNOT BE MODIFIED TO DO SO.

This will also be up to the carrier on how they deliver it. We had a fibre into the building but it will enter their equipment (NTU) and be presented to you as copper, they do not present E1 as fibre.

They may also deliver it via copper all the way.

You have no control on how the carrier will provide it but it will always be a copper terminiation.

All parts in your linked diagram describe 3rd party equipment that do not interface directly with Mitel.

Additionally, it describes a point to point voice network that you have not mentioned as a requirement.

The Mitel connects via ISDN Standard copper connections. If you cannot accept this, please move on.
