custom 404 page...

anyone know where their is an easy tutorial on this...

Are you on shared hosting? If so you might not be able to specify your own file for 404's. However if you aren't, setting up a custom 404 will be web server specific (ie. IIS vs. Apache). What web server are you using?
 
no, im not on shared hosting, I own my own server. Using IIS but somehow thing that when CF was set up it was set as a standalone server.

but in any case,
I went into IIS and switched the 404 form c:\winnt\.. to the page I wanted to display, then stopped and restarted the server and refreshed it...

Then in CF administrator, I added the relative path for Site-wide Error Handler to my error.cfm file


Still not displaying my file, just the default

If Friendly Messages are turned on in MSIE, it will not show the ones from the server.

Also, the site wide error template is if a CF error occurs, not a general server error.
