I saw an old post regarding a problem I am having, but did not see where there was a solution posted.
My company is still using Crystal Enterprise 9 (going to BOE XI SOON!)... Last week a problem started and I have not been able to find a solution...nor a cause... It just started...
When running reports on demand, my users get the following error: "There was an error retrieving data from the server: Service was not found." The services are all on the same physical box. We have a cache, page and report server together on a separate box. The rest of the CE software is on another. I can ping each servers from the other box. I also tried enabling those services on the same box as the rest of CE. But, the same problem exists.
I have restarted the services and rebooted the servers. I have also reloaded the software.
The reports can be scheduled successfully. However, if the report is viewed in CR format, the same error occurs. I have registered the crqe.dll file. That had no effect. But, a report can be scheduled and viewed as an acrobat file without a problem.
I assume the problem is with the cache and/or page servers since the job server is responsible for processing scheduled reports.
Any ideas?
