Create Subform for Data Entry

hello, im brand new both to this website and to MS Access (2007 version). Pretty glad to have found this cause im gonna need a lot of help

Basically the dB im struggling with at the moment has: the main table COMPANY (main form) with 1-to-many DEPARTMENTS (to be the Subform).

[1] I would greatly appreciate it if anyone told me how to create a subform (from the Department_table) within another form ie. the Company_table (visible as a Form!! and NOT as a Datesheet/Table!).

[2] After i create this form & subform the goal is to enter a COMPANY with its details on top, and then FOR EACH DIFFERENT Company to enter One or Many DEPARTMENTS underneath in the subform....In other words the Departments Subform should Create/Update/Delete/Browse through the Departments of the specific Company shown above in the main form (ie. specific CompanyID above).

It should be easy to do, but im a complete rookie and i know VERY little, if any, VB/Macro...

Thanks PH for your reply!!! I did try the Form Wizard, but it always presents the subform as a datasheet (tabular and something else). I just want a DEPARTMENT subform under the COMPANY form shown as a FORM! with boxes, ticks etc...I want that cause there's lot of info on DEPARTMENTS and i want it to be easier/more visible/userfriendly as a subform and not a huge table with loads of fields...

Im trying to make it add/update/delete/browse COMPANIES on top, and add/update/delete/browse DEPARTMENTS below corresponding to the specific Company chosen/created above!

Did you try changing the Default View property of the subform (accessed through the Main form's design view) to Single Form or Continuous Form?

thanks gkl895, i have since solved this problem (took me ages though) and it turned out to be fairly easy...there is even an InsertSubform button on the Design Option in Access 2007. The Single/Continuous From you are talking about, I THINK is something different, and it refers to the way old and new records are presented in a single form (ie. Continuous shows you all records added, but with the Single Form you have to browse through them using the arrow buttons, like a single form for each record). Anyway, Thanks Again!!! Vas
