Hello,

I found some threasds here how to create a subfilesystem on NIU2. After that you connect the NIU2 in a working MD110.

My problem is that i want to create an BC12 INL on NIU2 with 256Mb. When i create the subfile systems with mkfs and mount then i see with df just 1 mounted subfilesystem and after 10 second. There is no subfile system anymore.

When this is working i want to copy the INL to it with WS_FTP or WinCommander.

Who can help me to fix this!

Kings

Hi,
Keep in mind:
Suggested partitions by E// is of 120MB each instead of 256MB on Flash...
I did noticed only one file system...Fix in my case was FIMOE & FIMOI again....
Also do check about putting in NIU2 in the system which is being loaded with backup from NIU & HDU7/2....

Some more tips will follow...

BR,

Hi
I tried to forward the thread but it does not work.
here is the info from that thread

Sam Tool Box 3.6 SP3 don´t support NIU2 with flash ata.

The commands for SCSI-Disk are:
scfmt 3 LL
mkdev /DEV/SC31 231
mkfs /DEV/SC31 FFE0 1000 400
mount /DEV/SC31 /USR1

I try to translate it for NIU2 with flash ata:

atfmt 0 LL
mkdev /DEV/AT01 4#1
mkfs /DEV/AT01 3C00 1000 300
mount /DEV/AT01 /USR1

But it don´t works very well.

Who has the right commands.

Thank dusyi

atfmt 0
mkdev /DEV/ATA01 401
mkfs /DEV/AT01 F000 1000 400
mount /DEV/AT01 /USR1

that should do it.
the cullprit here is that you use ATA01 with mkdev and not AT01...

also tried this on ATA HDU7 but I have small problems with formatting disk and will be reported to E///.

Done some tests.
The devs are already there .
lOOK AT THIS:
niux > mkdev /DEV/ATA01 4
r = 0x0 (0)
niux > mount /DEV/ATA01 /USR1
r = 0xFFFFFFDC (-36)
niux > mount /DEV/AT01 /USR1 ! This is correct !
r = 0x0 (0)
niux >

The mkfs now makes filesystems identical as with FICRI 64MB and 54MB

Update .
NIU2 and flashcard are not stable with
different size on fs1 and fs2 .
Best mkfs is:
2 * 60MB with 15000 files

atfmt,mkdev,mkfs,mount now works fine.
But when I create INL with MDDT, copying from files break off at program unit pep.d with network error "12031".

Hi

After you format and create the file system and mount the flash disk or HDU you should use MDDT from SAM 3-7 sp8 to create INL.
Make sure you have the latest firmware on NIU2 or NIU.
Also make sure you are not using old NIU/1 boards.
There are problems with old firmware and hardware
on NIU and NIU2 for SCSI and ATA.
I always use MDDT and never have a problem.
If you use win/total commander you may have problems.
Maybe others use win/total commander and find it O.K.

This problem was solved on the latest firmware on NIU2 R6A

Experience it, there is no substitute.
