CPND intermittent on incoming calls after changing IDC table

I was working on a Option 11. The customer has a odd configuration. They have about 125 DID's coming in for different "virtual customers" They have a M2616 with an extension and 4 more keys setup with LHK of 4. Whoever setup the system day one then programmed a SCR key starting on Key 8 going up with the 125 DID's on the keys. The way it used to work is when someone called one of the DID's it would ring on key 0-4 and per the LD 95 CPND table show the name associated with the extension. They had a IDC table with one converted number in DCNO 0 so I added another conversion. As soon as I did this the CPND stopped working. Now the calls will sometimes just show the EXT ie: 7821 and sometimes show the name and the extension. There is no pattern when or which key 0-4 you use to pick up the call. I went in and took the IDC entry out, outed and re-entered the CPND name, outed and re-added the extension on the key, tried adding a few of them as ACDN's with NCFW to Key 0 of the phone instead of as SCR keys. Since I wasn't sure why it did this and I was down the street I had the customer do a reset. Well they powered the switch off and back on BUT ONLY AFTER doing an EDD. So now I don't have a clue why it's not working and how to fix it. Any ideas.

never a good idea to have a cust reset a switch... the output number of your idc table needs to have a name.. and that name should show when that idc is used.. nothing strange or tricky about that setup.. doing a reset after a edd is not going to revert to the old version on mistakes.. they were over written.. now you'll need to debug the new version.. it's tough when you inherit a switch with something that strange.. i would name the actual inbound number and the translated inbound number and work on one line on one phone at a time until i could see a pattern. most troubles are a comb of small mistakes that are noticed after a change.. then your the man with the keyboard

I actually had told them to do a reset, they took it upon themselves to do the EDD (From what they remembered from the other vendor, Good thing just didn't want it used now) I had wanted the reset without EDD to undo what I had Done. BUT I have since then removed the number from the IDC table. And put all programming back exactly as before the one change. Just the IDC table was changed. The change of adding one conversion actually made ALL OF THE CPND stop working, not just one.

something else made the cpnd stop.. not a change in the idc.. check your name set up in 95 and see if it's still there...

I have checked and all 95 stuff looks good. This is on ALL incoming DID's. Also, if you call the extension internally the names shows every time. Isn't it possible the system has some funky data corruption that could be causing this? I swear, the only thing I did is --LOGI-PWD-LD 49-CHG-IDC-O-O-7821-3720-****-LOGO. Also, the external DID names show up on a intermitten bases. Go figure.

it was a bullentin out many years ago from nortel not to make changes on the active idc table. make change's to the inactive one then apply to the route.

haven't seen that one, i make changes to active table with no negitive results, but that could be the problem.. no two software loads seem to work alike

I guess I will create a new IDC and then change over to that one and see if that works. I, like johnpoole, have made changes to active IDC Tables for about 8 years now with no ill affects but it's definatly worth a try. I'll keep this thread posted.
