I have an extn that covers to a VDN/Vector that eventually rings at another extn.

However, this last extn doesn't go to coverage but if I dialed it direct, it does.

Is there a field I'm missing somewhere?

Do you want it to go into that mailbox from the vdn?

Check in your Vector. What is the step that rings the other extension? A typical example would be:

route-to number xxxxx cov n if unconditionally

If you set the "cov y" (coverage yes) then the call will follow the coverage path of the destination extension.

Or better yet, message skill 99 (assuming 99 is your voice mail hunt group)for extension xxxx

Answering your the initial question, you cannot cover the same call twice. Once it is already covered, it will never follow the coverage of any other object.

I would like the call to ring at an extn before covering to VM.

I believe szuperk is right on the double coverage.

That is why you do the message skill 99 for extension xxxx, coverage path point 1 goes to the station, point 2 goes to a vdn to a vector that messages skill 99 for ext xxxx
