D1-custom[mm] - has the sum total of minutes from A1:C1 all custom[mm](I am calculating minutes gone by)
so we'll say that number is 200
E1-formula =D1-custom[h].mm which shows as 3.2
I need it to show 3.33 (as per a 100 minute clock)-this is used for billing purposes
I've tried =D1/60, =SUM(D1/60) =SUM(A1:C1)/60 and many others....I get a value of 0.1 or 0.00 or something else....I have tried changing field to number, general, and everything else but usually get a #NAME! error. Can this be done? Any help would be great, this project is almost done but needs fine tuning for accuracy.
Thanks for any/all help.

[h].mm is still hours and minutes, and minutes still cap out at 60.

If this is for billing, don't you want to round to the nearest....something? Most places would bill by quarter hour or something like that.

Hi,

BTW, with the examples that you are showing, you are working with DAYS and DISPLAYING Hours or Minutes.

Check out faq68-5827.

Anyhow, where you DISPAY 200, let's say that's A1 (remember the underlying value is DAYS), to get HOURS frome DAYS...

The reason 90 minutes has to be listed as 1.5 hours(1hour30min) instead of 1 hour.30 min is because that time frame is being applied to a dollar amount later.i.e. Person makes $50 hr. we are billing service time of 1.5*$50=$75 owed.
*Anotherhiggins* you helped me on my other issue-calculating difference in time (10:45-13:45=180min)and selecting MAX time serviced between 3 time variables. My chart and formulas work great and I get the proper sum of Minutes serviced....I now need to convert that minute sum into 100th/hour value to multiple against hourly wages.
Hope that clarifies things.
Your Help is appreciated.
