Converting HFA phone to SIP - thread965-1751217

I have read thread thread965-1751217 but I'm still confused.

My Opoenstage 60G phone is at software version V3.R0.23.0 HFA 150204.

So it is an HFA phone and I believe it will not work with my Raspbx system.
So I want to install the SIP software. I have seen a page referring to it online, but it mentions that it contains encryption software and so its download is restricted. Anyway, there are no download links.

I cannot see the post referring to in the thread "a few posts down from this one".

So my questions:

1. Where is a download link I can get the right SIP software from?
2. Could I restore the HFA software at a later date?

Thanks,
Chris

The 3C daemon is already there on the hipath.tonido site mentioned.

With an FTP server running you should be able to also run Filezilla CLIENT on the same PC to test username/password/file download

xs650 - thanks for your ideas. The DERT thing. Bullet proof? Well, the Wiki says it requires a "level 2 network switch ... in a separate network environment" so right there, I'm "wuh?" Looks like another route to a week of mystery and misery. And as far as I can see, it doesn't say where to get DERT from.

As for I get the same "failure to connect" report as I do from my local FTP server. So I'll try the 3C thing, and probably get the same connection failure again, but maybe not.

-filezilla is still working here without any problems (although I have used it the first time)

Yep 3C Daemon - reported error FILE NOT SUPPORTED. Real reason as shown in system log NO CONNECTION TO SERVER. Something about my setup is preventing FTP access to anything from the phone, though FTP access from several clients works fine.

I did mine with an anonymous FTP server on Windows Server 2008. The biggest problem I had was getting the entries right on the file transfer screen of the phone.

All that I entered is-
FTP Server - IP address
Username - Anonymous
Filename - OS_60_HFA_V3_R0_33_0.img (or whatever)
Action: Download

I kept trying to put stuff in the account name, but it just needed the username.

xs650 - thanks, so Filezilla is a suitable FTP client all things being equal.

LoPath, thanks - I configured 3C Daemon to accept anonymous FTP and tried that but no joy. Again - this is a problem with FAILING TO CONNECT TO THE SERVER - not with failing to talk to it.

I just noticed something else from the log file I posted earlier. A few lines before the highlighted NO CONNECTION TO SERVER line is another line which I had ignored but which may be relevant:

Feb 17 12:19:14 192 user.crit syslog: PhoneletManager(2142): ./src/PhoneletManager.cpp:4971 FindPhonelet: Phonelet not found for HelpPhonelet

I can't find any help with that on the web either. Anyone know what a PHONELET is or why mine might be missing?

Thanks

OK it's solved for the record in case others find it helpful. Here are the lessons learned:

1. IGNORE the incredibly stupid error message "FILE NOT SUPPORTED" because it is lying.
2. TO find out what happened, turn on debugging logs from the web UI at DIAGNOSTICS -> FULL TRACE CONFIGURATION. I chose about 10 which sounded useful - I guess you could turn them all on. Then when you try something which fails, go and look at the system log by clicking the DOWNLOAD SYSLOG FILE link. In Chrome I hold down Control & Shift before clicking this, so that the log opens in another tab and then Chrome goes to it. This saves time because the previous page is very slow to load and jumping between them is a pain.
3. When you install your FTP Server program, be sure to select the options which allow it complete access to your private network.
4. When you set up the folder path, remember that you do not need to enter this into the Web UI path - if the file you want is in that folder, jsut put / as the path.
5. Make sure USE DEFAULTS is unticked or it will ignore what you've entered.
6. Make sure your network is working - try to use your FTP server from another PC on the local network. If you cannot, resolve this before anything else.

So now I have upgraded the firmware, however - but problem.

Anyone know what the DEPLOYMENT PIN is? I found 40001998 on the web but it doesn't work. When I reboot the phone it says DEPLOYMENT SERVER UNREACHABLE.

Thanks, Chris

Well, with no further action from me, the Openstage 60 started working normally the following day - possibly due to a reboot. The only deployment key I ever entered was 40001998.

Thanks again to everyone who offered help.

Good news so Chris.
Just wondering if the Raspbx is underpowered - how do you find it day to day

Deployment PIN is something you set yourself as far as I understand it. We don't use it so it should not matter unless someone set one.
We have a DLS (deployment) server (BTW, as far as I understand it you can set up a basic DLS server for free that can at least push out software - that is much easier) and I know I have seen stuff in there relating to deployment PIN but none of it is set up. It's probably there so users can't try to do their own updates.

Hey! I think I have discovered WTH is going on here... I just developed a theory based on something that has been P'ing me off for a couple hours here...

Here is the theory: Something is WRONG with V3 R0.23.0 - You Cannot (or cannot easily) upgrade out of it.

I still have like 800 phones with really old firmware because I'm in a hospital and it's hard to do things. I have been rolling out updates to V3 R0.23.3 across the board, but I have installed earlier updates on some phones as I touched them. I pushed out 100+ phones last night and 3 failed that had V3 R0.23.0 on them with an error message that says "Hardware/Software Incompatability". (using DLS bulk update). So I went to do it manually (in DLS) and it also flipped me the bird. I will next try installing the file via WBM and see if it works.

Sbcsu, the web UI is a little slow, but the PBX functionality is fine, though I have not taxed it very much. It' not in daily use - I'm just playing at the moment. Yesterday I got the Pi to run with a proper hard disk and it was significantly faster.

donb1, thanks for your thoughts on deployment. In fact, the phone has complained a couple more times about the deployment server being unreachable shortly after booting, but it goes about its business anyway, so that issue is taking a back seat for a time. Don, I;m so glad I dont' have responsibility for all those phones!

Thanks again guys, for giving me so much of your time.
