Does anyone know where (or if it can be done) to set the outgoing Caller ID _name_ on a PRI? The service provider says they will, by default, allow our system to specify the name to be displayed for outgoing callerID.
According to Catalyst Tech Support, the IPO can not control the caller ID name. Only digits can be manipulated. The service provider has full control over the name function.
As the guys have said, IP Office only allows you to send digits. To control these digits, if you don't know already, simply amend your dial out shortcode as follows:
To use 9 to dial out...
SC 9N
TN ns01015555555 (your outgoing CLI)
FT Dial
For free dialing...
SC ?
TN .s01015555555
FT Dial
The outgoing CLI needs to be in your DDI range. You can use this shortcode on a user basis to send user specific CLI.
You can then tell your service provider what number you are sending and they can create a name entry to match your outgoing CLI digits.
