Hi,

I am new here and although my knowledge of Avaya systems is limited i'm just starting and learing at a quick pace.

I will most likely have many questions in the near future so im hoping you guys will be able to point me in the right direction.

My question is as follows:

I am just in the process of setting up my first IP 500 and have a feature key with several licences installed.

I have another feature key with other licences on it as well.

I would like to consolidate these 2 feature keys onto 1 key with all the licences on it.

How would I go about doing this?

Regards,

Gaz

As far as I know, you would have to go through an Avaya business partner and they would send all the information for the two dongles to Avaya, and Avaya would move all the licenses on to a new dongle for you.

Avaya won't do that.
You can swap licenses from one dongle to the other but not from two to one.

If you are an Avaya business partner then you can buy a demo system for a very nice price with the licenses you will need as a business partner.

When there is a new software version then you can request an upgrade license for free.
Any new license can be requested.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You can do this but you will need to purchase a new 3rd key. There are two license swaps available and this is cosidered a "manual" swap. You will indeed need an Avaya Business Partner to do this.

Hi,

Sorry I may have miscommunicated what I want to do.

I want to take licences from one feature key and put them on another feature key.

I do not want to take 2 feature keys and put them on a 3rd.

Do I need to physically send both the physical FK's to the BP as 1 is in use at the moment and removing it to send off would render my phone system out of use.

Thanking you in anticipation.

All you need to do is the business partner the serial number of one dongle and the information of the licenses on that dongle, and the serial number of the dongle you want to move those licenses on to.

The dongle you are taking the licenses off of will need to be sent back to Avaya after they move the licenses over.

Contact your business partner and they can go through all of this with you.
