Console at boot prompt

I am getting these errors showing in /var/adm/messages, after I have uncssesfully tryied to install the OS patch 109147-37:

I installed this Solaris 8 linker patch without problems on some systems.
Why did the patch install fail (return code of patchadd)?
Did you change hostname/nodename recently?

I was wondering Are you running nfs on this system?

If yes is this system a server or a client?


As huebs pointed out this may be a /etc/hostname.* or /etc/nodename issue. I found a quick blurb on someones past issue resembling yours.

I am using a nfs client, after rebooting the nfs server it gave a better signal.

Should I edit any files on /etc?

Sorry I did not respond earlier, got busy. As long as your files look correct I would not edit anything.

/etc/rc2.d/S73nfs.client start sometimes does not complete when booting system

This is basically what caused your problem. I could not find a patch as far as I looked. Monitor the system, you will probably be fine.
