I have install 8 locations and now need to connect to unit together allow extension to extension dailing. I have setup the IP trunks and mirror the settings on both ends. I have setup a short code to identify the extension to rout ethe outgoing call 715xx to route to trunk 4 for example. When I dial the extension from a 406 running version 4.10 to a ip office 500 pro running 4.07 I get a message in the system status "Line number 10 Disabled - unlicensed" Should I be able to do this with our Small community networking? I will have around 19 location when I am finished.

Thank you

milkshake456,

You do not want to use shortcodes. You want to use SCN (small community networking) with an IP line pointing to each system. Once the IP line is up, SCN will "learn" each system's extensions, names, etc.

I recommend your IP Line be set up starting with line number 100. Use the G729 Codec (8k).

the 406 is in profesional mode by default
with 4.0.7 you need a professional license for networking (SCN)
upgrade to 4.0.10 and you don't need to be on profesinal anymore
you still need the network license for scn on the 500
you don't for the 406
do you want advanced networking then you need a license on both
