Hey guys,

The guy who programmed the system a long time ago of 2 network merlin systems created a "Pool 70" for the telephone company trunk lines to connect to. The "pool 70" is mirrored on both ends, one with ext. 500-532 and the other 600-632. We are cutting off the telephone co. trunk lines at one end.

I'm I able to just assign the "pool 70" of one end(Side B) to the trunk line already assigned to "pool 70"(Side A) over the tie trunk. Or should I release the 600-632 extensions from Side B "Pool 70" and add them to the "pool 70" on side A over the tie trunk.

I am a newbie so having a lot of trouble, can't even figure out how to use SPM for programming. The software is connected to the Merlin box admin port but not giving any options for system programming.

Thanks in advance for any help. I have a functional diagram if that helps.

Considering you do not know SPM, and considering you have one of the more complex setups (2 systems tied together), IO would say that you need a LOT MORE HELP than we can throw your way on this forum.

Yes I know merlinman lol...I've come a long way the last couple days. The majority of the system has been setup and I've been putting a lot of hours reverse engineering.

The PRI is set up as a ElecTandNtwk with Route Directly to UDP but the guy who set this up before me never got it to work so I am questioning whether he started off on the wrong foot.

I looked over the FAQ and the PRI is setup as "Call by Call" and incoming routing as "Dial Plan". Should I just ax the old B-channel group and place the FAQ settings in place?

In a NUTSHELL, here's how Networked Systems are set up:

SWITCH TYPE:

1 switch is set to MERLIN-Ntwk - and -
The Other switch is set to MERLIN-PBX

The "LINES" are placed in a pool OTHER THAN the 70 POOL.

The "ROUTING" is handled by entries in the Uniform Dial Plan (UDP) Tables.

Of course, there's a bit more to it than that, but that's enough to get you started (or highly confused).

Will I run into conflicts if I use tandem tie-trunk and tandem PRI simultaneously on and extension?

Currently, we have ext. 600-612 Merlin-PBX side, and 500-512 Merlin-Ntwk side communicating through a tie-trunk and everything works fine.

I'm trying to setup PRI so I can make outside calls on PBX side through Ntwk end's 801 trunk(Main phone line) using ext. 612. I'm concerned since ext. 612 is associated with tie-trunk the system will not allow call to pass.
