Hi all
I want to connect console operator(2250) to computer. The system I have is cs1000 5.5. and I have smile software on the pc. Could this work? Do I need any configuration on the PBX.
Thanks for help

No you don't need any additional Configuration on the Meridian, The smile software just 'controls' the M2250, as far as the Meridian concerned it still just a plain old console.

I do connect the console to the pc using (25-9 null modem cable) but smile software not detecting the lines & calls. still the calls handeled by the console only.

You'll need a CIU (Console Interface Unit) which emulates a 2250 console with physical connections to the PC and 25 pair to switch/amphenol, as MossEng say's as far as the Meridian/CS1000's concerned its a console with all those TN pairs connected 2 Pri/Sec and ideally 3 for power

Cheers !!

I want to directly connect the 2250 console to the pc without using the CIU

You should be able to use the 2250 without CIU.
Have you tried a straight-through cable? Also make sure the software is configured for the correct COM port on the PC?

You don't need a CIU, all it does is simulate a M2250, alot of my customers prefer M2250 over CIU as if the PC crashes they can still use the M2250, where as with a CIU you can't. As for the cable, it should be a straight 9 to 25 cable. I find the easiest way to prove cable is using a Null Modem, try it with and without the Null Modem, one of these two options usually works, and then you know which cable you've got.

Thanks every body. It was cable problem, it work with (25-9 strait cable)
