Struggling with getting a SIP trunk setup from a new provider Connect Me Voice. IPO ver 11, embedded VM.

I've tried so many variations of setting it up but still seeing Trunk out of Service from System Status.

Anyone have a good template or KB for using this provider?

Just getting the trunk to connect really.

Basically the provider gave me username, password, and domain and said good luck. I've only dabbled with SIP on the IP Office.

I have this setup in our lab here with just public DNS. Registrar just goes in the ITSP Proxy Address line right?

I have credentials setup then a SIP URI setup with those credentials.

Not sure if I have the right filter enabled on monitor but here's some SIP error.

I'm so close. Got the trunk to connect but still can't make incoming or outgoing calls. I have the ARS setup to use line 17 for outgoing call route.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong with the SIP URI.

A good start point is always to look into the INVITE message of an incoming call. It gives you many hints how the numbers are formatted (national, international, regional), what info contains the FROM and further headers like P-Preferred or P-Asserted.

Nevermind, so it shows 'In service' in SS but still not registered if you tab over.

And after some tweaking, the registration tap disappeared. WTH.

So ITSP Proxy Address needed to be in IP form and not the whole domain URL. Thanks for the guidance.

Yes, sorry I didn't make that clear. It's working perfectly now. Still scratching my head on some other things like caller ID. It appears that if I use the sXXXXXXXX trick in the ARS it controls the main caller ID. I thought that if I set the User's SIP number it would use that but it wasn't working.

That depends on the URI settings. If you set the URI to Auto the short code values (sXXXXXXXXXX) is used. If you want to use the user's SIP tab values you have to set the URI to use 'Internal Data'.

Also if you want to display the DDI associated to an extension on outgoing calls, just send the call to the AUTO URI with no number formatting and it will work like it does with ISDN (ie your incoming number becomes your outgoing CLI)

Yes we use that here in our office where if you dial 8 for outside line instead of 9 you send out your DID from the ICR instead of the sXXXXXXX in ARS

So what would I modify here for caller ID settings?
