Connect 2 MICS with VOIP

I read with great interest that this is now possible, but I could really use some help in knowing how do do this.

If anyone has experience connecting 2 MICS with a VOIP type circuit in lieu of either E&M or PRI, please speak up here. I think this will turn into a most interesting discussion.

If VoIP is what you're after,(though sometimes I wonder why people want it yet, though the term does sound cool). You may have better VoIP success with the BCM using the i2000 series sets. Pretty easy to set up. darnold@americaii.com

I've never used them (yet). But thier EW200 looks to be the thing. I've installed an MCK 4000 Gateway and extender recently and I'm convinced that a product like the EW200 is going to completely replace the T1 solution sooner than later. Either that or Nortel etc will produce their own version in a card format which will fit directly into the KSU.

I cant seem to find any information on the EW200 at that site. Is it like the MCK Gateway product? Have you used any other VoIP stuff on a Norstar System.

I am using VOIP between to sites 8x24 to a MICS, using cisco 1751v routers FXS cards on both sides of a T1. My data, Video Conferencing and 4 VOIP lines all on the T.



It is working great for 9 months now I highly recommend the VOIP, it's ready!

I just pulled the example up after not too long a search. I have used the MCK product as stated above, there is the BCM solution as Redhawkfla described, there is the 3Com solution for Norstar, and there is

that you might want to look at. These are all non T1 options. T1 and PRI connectivity remains an option. You have to decide exactly what services and connectivity would best suite your company from DISA access, to branch extentions to centralized voice mail etc. Then go and look at equipment.
