I believe it is the account you registered with the ddns site. When your IP changes, it contacts the ddns site, uses your credentials to change the ip mapping.
i hope i did all this right
ok im at the dynamic dns page and i entered all the info which i hope i did it right
but at the very bottom it says disconnected
do you know why that might be?
when i klik on the enable dynamic dns i put a check mark in the box and then i klik on save settings and it says connecting then it greys out and it says disconnected and the check mark from the box that says enable dynamic dns is unchecked.
i dont know why it does that
I don't know. You may have to go to the tech support at the D-link website and see if they know anything. I know nothing about this router. I'm just looking at the manual.
Maybe dyndns can help also. Sorry to rush off but I have to go somewhere.
i dont know why it keeps saying in the tools dynamic dns page of my router it keeps status disconnect
like i said..i enable it and save the settings and it says connecting then it greys out and says disconnect and the check mark from the enable dynamic dns box is unchecked again by itself.
im not sure what the problem is but, i wish i could just fix this already and have it working?
aere you still able to access my filse like you did earlier?
can you try?
I was just thinking, maybe it is connecting but the ip is the same so it disconnects until the hours pass that are set in the Time Out box? Just a thought.
yeah maybe that is why
do i need to have this DYNDNS UPDATER that keeps giving me errors.do i have to have running still or can i take it off?
and if i take it off..can my friends still acess the files im sharing?
one more question..
in order for my friends to access my files, i know i have to have apache running but, what else do i need to have open and running? or is it just apache ?
I got to the site but it says downloading a just keeps showing that it's downloading but I don't think anything is happening. It may be because apache doesn't know how to deal with spaces in the url (file name is part of url). Try to rename one with a simple name with no spaces.
