I have Micros e7 system with two workstations. I tried to access configurator, the warning message popup 'update password to acesss configurator'. I updated password and logged in, it didn't let me, so I again and got 'configurator access is disabled'. I tried with my "phantom manager" log in, and immediately same message.
How do I fix this?

Do you have access to the Database? If so, could you query if the Username is shown as locked or??

I think I do, I logged out of e7 and through google search did the following steps:
Navigated to C:\Program Files\MICROS\e7\Cfg

Open e7Config.txt. You should see this line:

<add key="UwsObjectNumber" value="0" />

MY VALUE WAS "2" DON'T KNOW IF THAT MEANS ANYTHING

Change it to:

<add key="UwsObjectNumber" value="6" />

Save the file an relaunch e7. You're going to get a lot of errors and warnings; ignore them, and just keep clicking ok.

Then I was told to look for the dropdown box but There was only the configurator button and received the disabled message again...

Any advice? Other ways? This shouldn't be so difficult...

You're technically bypassing the security on the point of sale. It shouldn't be so easy.

Do what you did above, and then when you get into configurator (you're going to get A LOT of error messages - just click through them), go to employees, find yourself, and you will have to actually change your password and uncheck the disabled check box. Once you do that, shutdown e7 again and change your node back to 2.

And yes, the fact that your node was 2 means that you aren't doing this from the server (you might not even have a server given that e7 doesn't technically require one).

Please pardon my lack of knowledge but I did all of the above and when I relaunch e7 there are no errors and it brings me to login page so I can not get into the configurator it says access disabled, what is the obvious thing I am missing??

I still haven't fixed this and I really need to get in and change my menu, can anyone help me?

Is the date on the workstation the same as the current date?
Is the business date of your POS behind the current date?

As for logging in, I would think to change it back to 2 and try again.

Yes all dates are current, the problem is when I change the number to 6 and save and relaunch I do NOT get the error messages, it just boots back up as normal...

Are you able to get in after that, or still giving you an error about your username?

Nope gives me the same message "configurator access is disabled"

There are only 2 workstations, I tried from both, and it is the same result, no errors on reboot and goes to regular function with configurator access disabled.

Do you have a server? Or are just running on 2 workstations as stated by Moregelen?

Anyone else have any other thoughts? I left a message with the micros tech but haven't received a call back yet, freaking out...anyone know who else can I call, I do not care if a tech has to come to me!

I have a client who has locked all 3 SuperUsers in his Micros e7 V3.3 POS
Configurator Disabled on all 3 users
