Server edition 9.1.7 VM Pro. I am in the process of programming Conference bridge for a customer and am having an odd issue with MOH not playing when Participant is waiting on hold for Moderator to join conference.

I am using the Call Flow from Kyle's site (RIP) and others have used from this form and for the most part it works except that when a participant is put on hold there is no Hold music. ( in this case is is the double beeps). The other issue is if another participant dials in they get connected to other participants even if the Moderator is not there.

I have verified that if a call is put on hold they do hear the double beep..
I am wondering if maybe module is corrupted and I should rebuild.
But thought I would ask before I do that.

Also I have a question as the the Conference PIN field that is on the User Tab in Manager. I can not find any good documentation as to how to use this or program it. It does not seem to have anything to do with the source number in user form or related to the programing of my conference bridge I mentioned above.

Any help is appreciated.

Ah I figured on the MOH issue.. The meet me short code I had was wrong

Still trying to figure out how the Conference PIN works though.

I don't believe that the conference PIN code you see in manager (user/user) is accessible in any of the VM pro actions. Avaya is using it somehow, but that doesn't seem accessible to the average VM pro users like you and I.

I've never found a way to use it. I continue to use the Vm pro outcalling number, Pxxxxxxx (P followed by 7 digits, as an example) in the source number tab, as this is easily queried, tested, and manipulated by various actions.

I've got two separate sets of bridges I use that are based on what Kyle originally designed, one moderated (no workie until moderator arrives, only the moderator needs to input the PIN), the other unmoderated (everyone needs to enter the PIN). There's probably some quirks to the way I'm doing it as compared to the original design.

I was using the original Kyle Holladay design which used VM pro variables, but I gave up on that as Avaya kept breaking the reliability of those variables. Plus the bridge design that uses the Vm pro outcalling number means you can control who has a bridge by who has the Pxxxxxxx number in their source number tab, and there is only a single conference module bridge that applies to everyone, rather than needing to build multiple bridges for everyone who wanted one (with the old VM pro variable design)

Yes Using the Pxxxxxxxxx works for me.. Just was trying to see what the PIN was used for.. Thanks for reply. have a good weekend

If you have a value entered in the user's Conference PIN field then when you join that users bridge it will prompt you for the PIN before allowing you into the bridge. I was unable to get this to work at all in the early versions of 9.1 but testing on a R9.1 SP9 system now and it does work (not sure what release it was fixed in).

When you dial the conference meet me short code now it directs to a ""REQUESTPIN" vmpro module which appeared to be hidden in 9.1 but with a 10.0 vmpro client you will now see it listed under default modules. There is another default module also called "RequestConfDetailsFromExternal" that can be used in conjunction and is basically a menu that prompts you for the bridge number and if you are moderator first before then transferring you to the REQUESTPIN module. The only problem I have found with it is that the PIN you need to enter is the same whether you are the moderator or not so there is nothing stopping someone from joining as the moderator even if they are not. I have tried to manipulate these modules so that a non moderator did not require any PIN then you could keep the PIN a secret for just the moderator but I haven't been able to do that successfully.

I can't even seem to view what is in those default modules. It would be nice to see what Avaya is using to pull the users conference pin field.

Right click on the module to enable it, then you can view and modify it.

If you do take a look at the destinations in the transfer actions, they are pretty interesting "KF:pIN=$CP1" is one of the destinations and another is "/116/$CP0:$CP0". Makes me wonder what other hidden codes you could use in a transfer action.
