Computer Starts Booting... then freezes...

Okay, I have just reinstalled winxp because of a previous error and it fixed it, then i got on my computer, customized it again with WindowBlinds, installed my programs that i used, Zone Alarm Pro, Popup Blocker, etc... And then i restart it after i install Zone Alarm Pro, but then it starts booting goes to WinXP Load screen, then freezes at a black screen, i've tried every option under F8 key, i've tried booting from disk, i've tried Everything! And it wont work... i showed my friend on webcam (on a different computer) what my computer did, and he said that my hard drive is probably shot... Any ideas?

lol like that would happen... my dad is going to 'call' dell and see if he can get a free one cuz supposedly he still thinks that even after opening the case and messing with the contents that it still is under warrany

If you can bypass the Dell Call Centre in India and get hold of someone in your local Dell office, you may just be in luck....

A suggestion ... Defragment, Error Check your hardrive from time to time ..... another suggestion ... use Windows 2000 Professional ...

hardrives are so cheap these days ... you can get like a 160 Gb hardrive for a $100 (ebay) ... i'd say get 2 or 3 ... keep as backups ... make a System Recovery disk ...
