Computer Starts Booting... then freezes...

Okay, I have just reinstalled winxp because of a previous error and it fixed it, then i got on my computer, customized it again with WindowBlinds, installed my programs that i used, Zone Alarm Pro, Popup Blocker, etc... And then i restart it after i install Zone Alarm Pro, but then it starts booting goes to WinXP Load screen, then freezes at a black screen, i've tried every option under F8 key, i've tried booting from disk, i've tried Everything! And it wont work... i showed my friend on webcam (on a different computer) what my computer did, and he said that my hard drive is probably shot... Any ideas?

Uninstall your 'customizations' one at a time from Safe Mode, if you can start it; boot from the WinXP CD and do a Repair or, failing that, a fresh install.

everything freezes cant boot up in any mode, Safe mode, Debugging mode, VGA Mode, Directory Services restore mode, boot from WinXP Cd, nothing works...

Tell us some more of the history; what was the previous error?

previous error was a blue screen only showed for like 10ms tho so i could barely read it, it said "Beginning Physical Memory Dump." and it would restart over and over couldnt boot it in any mode, couldnt do anything till my brother found my windows xp cd, then i reinstalled/formatted my hard drive, and now im pretty sure its a problem with the hard drive, but after it gets to the loading screen the screen goes black then the cd-rom and hard drive stop spinning so all i hear is the two fans.

Hard drive is probably top of the bill....do you have another? It only needs to be 3Gb or so...

no dont have another, and parents wont let me take apart our emachine or hp, my computer is a dell, a 30gb one they dont sell the computer ne more its a Dimension 2300

And you can't add your drive to another machine as a slave(instead of the CD..?) to run tests?

NVM Y'all Me n My dad are gonna go buy me a new hard drive, remembered i had an old 98 in my bros room, tested hard drive, works! my hard drive is shot...

Your description of the problem is a bit confusing as you say you can't boot from anything because the system freezes. At what point is the system freezing? During POST, or during XP loading, or ? What is the boot order set for in BIOS?

during XP Loading... and i tested another hard drive, mines screwed up

The easiest answer to this is to reload XP again. Are you unable to do this, or unwilling at this point?

hmm mayb ill get that 1TB one its external, its only $1,059

I'd suggest a couple of smaller drives; easier to back up and XP can be installed on both - get trouble with the main one, it gives you a chance of sorting it by booting from the other....
