We have mostly 2616 phones nowadays, but I'm wondering if what I've heard (from one person) is true---that the 3900 phones aren't as reliable as the 2000's.
I'm sure some of you have both types, is one easier to learn/use/program than the other?
The only problems that I've really heard;
1) Make sure that the phone rls is compatable with the RLS on the switch
2) Some people have had trouble resetting the directory password on the 3904. don't know the cause are resolution on this one.
Other than those 2 things the phones seem to be very well received.
rls 23 or so was bottom for 3900, no diff in the software, unless a few more default keys on the three and you don't have to label the phones, i don't care what they cost i can make 100 changes a day on sites all over the state and the new key marks itself. haven't had any prob with phonhes going bad.
Sounds great, I trust everyone's opinion here much more than the person that told me they were junk---we don't use him anymore anyway, I've taken over all the programming myself now.
Sounds like I need to get a few to play with since we need to order a few phones anyway.
just make sure, go to ld 11 new..3903..make sure your software knows what a 3900 set is, a ? mark at the tyoe prompt will tell you if your rls and keycodes allow 3900.
I tried setting up a new 3903 and it will take it just fine, have one being delivered today. I don't see why not to change over since I get refurb'd ones for the same price as a 2616 as long as they're just as easy to use, or easier.
What RLS is the software of your switch the reason is
RLS24.24/24.25 Phase 1 phones (phase 2&3 will not work)
RLS25.08 Phase 1 (phase 2&3 work but only at phase 1 level)
RLS25.10/25.30 Phase 1&2 work (phase 3 at phase 2 level)
RLS25.4 and above all phones work.

put it in with key 0 and 1, then print it. you'll be happy to see the defaults, you get a mess lamp without key 16, with key 16 the soft key knows where to dial
