Hi there,

I have a big ACM 2.2 system here which was just upgraded from Definity G3R. The system comprises of:

2 x S8710
2 x Control Networks, Cajun (A&B)
1 x Centre Stage Switch (CSS)
22 x port networks in old MCC cabinets
2 x IPSI per port network, 44 IPSI's in total (connected to A&B control networks)

The system has multiple paths & components to choose for call control data. It can use control network A, control network B, the centre stage switch. Also with IPSI functionality a single IPSI can control multiple port networks, however we chose to make the system as fully redundant as possible and put 2 IPSI in each port network.

My questions are as follow:

How can I tell which data control channel is being used for each port network? Also how can I tell which IPSI card (if appropriate) is controlling each port network?

In a partial system failure situation I would need to know this information to make informed decisions relating to restoring the full service again.

Thanks for your help.

Wrt the IPSIs, you can do a list IPServer and it will tell you which ones are active, and which ones are in standby.

SabersKunk,

note that there is a way to make your system even more redundant. by duplicating your css you can go as high as critical reliability level. also it won't hurt to duplicate ups that serve s8710 servers.

dwallin, thanks for the info. Currently our CSS is located in one building. With the added functionality in ACM we are planning to seperate the CSS across 2 buildings to add in additional resilience :) Also, our S8710's are located in N+1 data centres.

Thanks RFWatts. I have used that command before and it is quite useful :)

Does anyone know of a command that will list which PN's are being controlled by which IPSI cards? List IPServer shows which cards are acive but not what they are controlling if I recall correctly. Any similar command to show if any PN's are being controlled via PNC\CSS would also be appreciated.

Thanks :)

SabersKunk,

css does not control any pns. css provides bearer network support, not control network.

the commands you can use, besides 'list ip-serv', are 'list cabinet' and 'list fiber'.
