I have a combo box which I want to use to display a 3-column list, however, I only want the first of these columns to display when the list is closed as I don't have enough room to have a text box the width of all three columns just sitting there taking up space when it's not in use.

Is there an easy way of expanding the list sideways to display all the columns I want without major VB programming (which I am willing to do but don't really have the time)?

Thanks in advance,

Size your combo box to preferred size on your form.

In properties click the Format tab, select Column widths ,(5th one down) the column sizes are separated with a semi colon and you can put the required display size here.

hope this helps

Hi, In access 2000, use the wizard to make a 3 column combo box. Select hide key column and only the first column is displayed in the text box. The other 2 columns are only visible once the drop down arrow has been pressed.

& make sure youu increase the ColumnCount from the dafault 1 to 3 that you need.
