Combining two Norstar systems

I recently spoke with Nortel about combining two MICS's both with NAM's together at one site. The reason that I am doing this is because the customer wants to add more trees. Nortel suggested that I link the two together with T1 cards and divide up the trunks between the two systems. On their existing system currently, they have a Cynphony. So, can I transfer calls out of the new NAM into the NAM with Cynphony smoothly? I would guess that I am going to have to use external transfer on PRI pool b to 500 of the Cynphony NAM, right? Just wondering if anyone has tried this and how good it works - or if anyone has any other solutions. Also, the customer does not want to buy an Option 11 nor any other system right now.

They need more than 4 trees?
If it is for different sub-companies, try to seperate them in a way tha makes sense to there business.
Put group A on one switch and group B on the other.
Then use E&M or T1 cards to allow calls to pass between the companies. In theory it's possible. Getting the right people on the right switch might be tricky.

Just had a thought. Would a CallPilot be too small? My CP100(2.0) says it has 8 trees possible (under CCR) when I look at the web interface. It has 100 greetings as well.

You need 2 or 4 station ports to dedicate to it if you go with that idea. Keep the Cinphony NAM and ditch the other one. If everyone will fit on one switch, that might be the magic solution.

Though the CP has eight trees it still only has four tables. A previous poster on this forum experienced conflict when trying to get the CP to use the alternate F codes with a NAM. My theory was that they are both using ACCESS2. The alternate codes with work between a NAM and a Flash. But the Flash, of course only has two tables. Don't know about two NAM's together or two CPs together.

Perhaps explore the use of submenus?
