CNI OUT OF SERVICE ON INACTIVE SIDE

I need help enabling my CNI's on the inactive side. This is what I get when I stat my CNI's:

stat cni
cni 0 9 0: remote = group 0 ENBL
cni 0 9 1: remote = group 1 ENBL
cni 1 9 0: remote = group 0 DSBL: 'NOT RESPONDING'
cni 1 9 1: remote = group 1 DSBL: 'NOT RESPONDING'

This is what I get when I try and enable:

.enl cni 1 9

CCED408 Will attempt to enable cnip 1 9 0 at next switchover.
CCED408 Will attempt to enable cnip 1 9 1 at next switchover.

I have a CS1000 with a PII. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!

No they will not test. I get a device not responding for both cards on that side.

Even though they are disabled, have you sent the disable command to them & then try to re-enable.

'NOT RESPONDING' = means you have to be onsite - either reseat and test or replace

check the switch on the front of the card that it is not disabled?

Thnx guys for all the advice. I am remote from the switch so I had to make a trip. The only way I could get it back in service was to disable software, then hardware, remove card, put card back in and bring it back into service. That did it. So thanks again!

i would replace those. marginal cni's may not be the best way to go.

there is a bulletin on the cCNI cards that are defective. Nortel is giving a free replacement. I think its the AB vintage and you get the AC vintage cards.

Your provider should be getting you this information.

those died with rls 3, i replaced 5 of mine on a nortel bulliten just post upgrade.. but the problem was not no response, when an ini she went into a loop, 5 ini's then a cold start. i had a no response on my standby side but had to replace the backplane
