We are running CMS Version 8.0, ED 03
I just started receiving this error message this morning "File system / : 83% Full". I did a graceful shutdown and reboot of our CMS system, and the error message remains.
I saw in an old thread that someone had reconfigured the swap file to eliminate the 83 percent disk full error message. My assumption is that this fixed the problem, from the way the thread read. Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to do so - or a link to a site or page that can walk me thru it?

Thanks so much!

sparker001,

you don't need to reconfigure swap since it's not the partition that gets filled. it's root partition. check what directory is misbehaving: "ls / | xargs du -sh".

Dwalin - thanks. I realized yesterday, after doing some searching, that this involves full-blown UNIX programming, which is not at all my forte. So we'll most likely reach out to a technician to look into this from here.

I appreciate your input.

sparker001,

well it's not programming, only unix administration. if you have any unix admin in your company, he or she definitely will be able to solve this. it's not rocket science.
