CM Upgrade from CM 2.2.2 to CM 3.1.2 2

Hi,

Anyone here try already the upgrade from CM 2.2.2 to CM 3.1.2? What step or procedures do you use? any manual to use please post?

Yes I have. Easiest and best is to go into the shell, de-activate the existing patch. Load the upgrade patch for CM2.2.2 to CM3.1.2 and activate it. Then go the the web maintenance menu, click "manage software" and follow the process to upload the software and install it. Once this process is completed, click "make upgrade permanent" and then load the latest cm3.1.2 patch.
One hour if on s8300/s8500
two hours if on s87xx - max

Thanks for the reply! But our seniors engineer told that it is not possible to upgrade from CM 2.2.2 to CM 3.1.2 using the web maintenance "manage software"? And the only way to upgrade the CM to 3.1.2 is by re-mastering the S8300 server.

i have done this on s8720, s8500 and my own in house switch is s8300 so the answer is yes, you can upgrade from the web interface

UK. But we do installs in Europe as well. I have actually upgrade this via VPN as well. YOu request the customer to put the CD in the drive and you upload the software onto the harddrive. Once this is done, you actually don't need the customer to be on site to do the upgrade remotely. Although this is not recommended but it can be done.
