Hi everyone
Is there a way of using IPO trunks from CM stations?

The idea is to send the IPO ars code from CM stations, through SM, and go out through an IPO trunk.

The configuration is as follows
CM >>> Session Mgr(SIP of course) >>> IP Office

Hope it's clear enough

Yeah. We do that with IPO as a survivable branch off CM instead of LSPs. Some of those sites use the IPO for their PSTN trunking instead of using core SIP trunks.

At a high level, it all hinges on Session Manager's location-based routing where you basically have something like your network region configuration in Session Manager, so when SM receives "+17204440000" and it originated from station with IP 192.168.8.8, SM has the "192.168.8.0/24" subnet defined as "Denver" and dial pattern "+1720" has different entries for every originating location pointing to a different destination - so "+1720" from "Denver/192.168.8" has a routing policy pointing to the "Denver" SIP entity - which is your IPO.

Basically that's how you can have 100 gateways in 100 locations with 100 subnets and have everyone who dials 911 have SM apply that location-based routing logic to direct the call to the gateway local to the user.

Does it work if both systems are stand-alone? I didn't know you could configure IPO as some sort of LSP.

As far as I understand, you have all your phones register to CM but going out to the PSTN through local IPOs, am I right?

Absolutely - it's no different than having your other brand PBX use CM for PSTN trunking.

There's something I don't get

When I dial a number from CM, goes to SM and SM sends it to IPO... I get a "Not Found" message from IPO in traces. It's trying to reach an extension.
Obviously I am missing something big here.

Could you share basic configuration on CM, SM and IPO for this to work?

Thanks

You're probably just not doing your IPO routing properly. Maybe have SM insert a 9 and make a short code in IPO of 9N to hit the IPOs ARS form

I am closer however, I get "Service Unavailable" from IPO
Any idea?
