Has anyone installed the patches for CMS R12 or R13. I have both I need to perform.

telcomwork,

cms is a pretty stable system and you don't need to install any patches unless you have some particular problem that is solved by particular patch. i never had any such problems neither with r12 nor r13 cms systems so i have never installed any patches. better don't fix it if it ain't broken...

Hey dwalin how are you? So Daylight Savings Time is not an issue and I should set the time manually with DATE mmddhhmmyyyy ?

Does Russia have daylight savings time?

telcomwork,

ah sorry i didn't understand that you meant daylight savings time. i have heard that in u.s. these rules have changed but that doesn't affect our part of the world.
anyway, cms synchronizes its time to the first acd and displays it always as is. the solaris server itself may run any arbitrary time, it doesn't affect cms software. so i don't think you need any patches to do that, just make sure your switches are running correct time.

The solaris operating system does not sync its time from the first ACD. You can manually set the time on March 11 but you will have to do it again on April 1 since the machine will change again on that date. The only real impact to not doing the update is cron jobs if you have any configured, they may be off an hour.

Tolson would you happen to have any write ups or step by step for an R13 or R12?

The required Sun Microsystems Solaris patches are included in the most recent load of CMS R13.1 available as of October 2, 2006. If for any reason customers do not want to upgrade to this latest version of CMS R13.1, the DST Solaris patches are available separately through services. If customers have maintenance, the installation of the DST patches will be covered. Otherwise, installation of DST patches will be billed on a Time and Material charge.

The required patches for CMS releases V11 and R12 can be acquired in the latest maintenance releases released on November 1, 2006.

Below is the link to the PCN for supplement 8 of R12 which installed the DST update.
