Greetings:

I must be doing something wrong but I haven't figured out yet what I did wrong. I have a test CM 6 system (S8300D on G430) and I had created a number of stations, setup the gateway, saved translations, then backed up the system. Backup consisted of two methods: (1) full, (2) all CM which includes ACP, security, and server/system files. So...I removed all stations and restored the backup. I checked the list of stations and nothing was there. I tried restoring from the other backup and same thing - no stations. I also tried deleting the virtual machine and reinstalling CM. After re-installation I attempted to restore the backups and failed again.

What am I doing wrong? I know I'm missing something very simple here...

After the restore, you need to restart CM to load the xln file

Much appreciated! I can't believe how much time I wasted before typing this on the forum. Again, thank you very much!

restores of all types only copy files to the server. restarts and reboots are almost always necessary to initiate the changes applied to the server / CM by the restore.

Hi AvayaTier3,

I was looking around the forum and I notice almost all of the forum you have a lot of replies. It's nice to know how helpful you are to everyone. I'd like to take this opportunity if you can help me with my current problem with our avaya pbx system. I tried removing the agent login-id but once I am executing the command it failed and the error message is "Message(s) waiting; please delete message(s) first. My current system is running CM 3.1.2

The following procedure are the one I've performed while removing the agent login-id.

1. Login the agent login id then command the "clear amw all "station" where the agent is login but after doing that agent login id still cannot be removed.

Greatly appreciate if someone can point me to the right direction as to how to remove the agent login-id.

Thank you,
Freedom12

clear amw all xxxx where xxxx is the agent login ID that you are removing.
status station xxxx before doing this should show Message Waiting: spe or audix, etc.
after clear amw xxxx, status station xxxx should show Message Waiting: blank and you can then do remove agent xxxx
